Biography

As a young girl, Olga Sharutenko wanted to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a figure skater and began her training at the age of six.

She and her skating partner (Dmitri Naumkin) joined the Russian National Figure Skating Team and went on to become Junior World Champions. After this success, they were invited to join the Russian Senior National Team and were to enjoy great success in their sports career, winning numerous competitions around the world.

In 1999 she joined the Russian Ice Stars, before joining the Imperial Ice Stars, Olga performed in Peter Pan on Ice, Barnum on Ice and also performed in the UK and Australian tour of Nutcracker on Ice where she performed the lead role of Clara. She also played the lead role Christine in Phantom of the Opera on Ice.

Through 2004-2006 Olga played the part of the Lilac Fairy in The Imperial Ice Stars production of The Sleeping Beauty on Ice. This major World Tour saw performances in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Africa, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany and Spain.

Now, in January 2006 she is partnering celebrity John Barrowman in a major television show for ITV: 'Dancing on Ice', watched by over 10 million viewers across the UK.

In addition to the time that Olga devotes to performing, she has recently undertaken coaching work projects in Russia and the UK and has also found time to choreograph/create ice pieces that have been performed by the Imperial Ice Stars, as well as choreographing 'on ice' routines for TV in her Russian Homeland.
